Beautiful engagement photography, just for you
You’re engaged, congratulations! It’s an exciting time that’s full of planning, celebrations, and romance – and your engagement is an event in its own right, so now’s the time to start to think about making the most of these special months. For many couples, engagement is the one time in their lives when they’ll share and plan, as a couple, such a significant and beautiful day: their wedding day. There’s no escaping it, from the moment that engagement ring is placed on the finger it’s a whirlwind of excitement and anticipation. It’s also your one and only opportunity to capture your engagement – and all of the happiness, love and romance that it brings with it – on camera with an engagement photography session.
Great value engagement photography, done your way
My name is Thomas and I’ll be your engagement photographer. I’ve worked as an wedding photographer Edinburgh for years and truly love what I do. Getting stunning shots for my happy couples is what I do best. And, whatever you like to call it – e-shoot, engagement photography, or simply pre-wedding photos – I know first-hand that engagement photos are the ideal way to capture some naturally fun, romantic, intimate, and candid snaps of you and your fiancé together before the big day arrives. Because, let’s not forget, unlike your wedding day photos where it’s about the whole wedding party from best man to mother-of-the-bride, your engagement photos are about the two of you, and no-one else.
If you’re planning on booking – or have already booked – a full day wedding photography package with me, you’ll get a free engagement photoshoot as part of your package. Get in touch to arrange your FREE engagement photoshoot!
It’s all about the two of you
It’s essential that your engagement photos reflect you, as a couple. That’s why I encourage every couple I work with to wear bright and colourful clothes – this is an opportunity to get creative and really let your personality shine! If you have props that you’d like to bring along and include, please do. Maybe you’ve got a quirky umbrella that the two of you huddled under on your first date, or perhaps you’ve got a shared hobby or interest that you both love? If you have, then let me capture it: whether it’s baking or cycling, hiking or snorkelling, I’ll always find a fun way to bring a bit of ‘you’ into the photo shoot to make it that extra bit special. Pets are always very welcome to be included in your photoshoot too! Find some inspiration; take a look at my engagement portfolio
Where do engagement photoshoots take place?
Your engagement photo session can happen on location anywhere you like. I’m known for my love of climbing and hill walking so even if you decide to have your session on Ben Nevis or Arthur’s Seat, I’ll never say no! For those of you who don’t share my love of hiking, here are some locations that my clients usually choose from:
- Edinburgh: Calton Hill, the Royal Mile, the Royal Botanical Gardens, South Queensferry
- Fife: Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline, Aberdour or Dalgety Bay beach
- Anywhere else that you feel drawn to within Scotland’s central belt!
How long will the session last?
Your engagement photoshoot will usually take about one hour. That’s it, one hour of fun and you’ll have the most beautiful photos to remember your engagement by for the rest of your life.
Benefits of engagement photography
Aside from having an amazing time and creating stunning photos, you’ll also benefit from the opportunity to get used to being in front of the camera before your big day arrives. You can get to know me, and discuss whichshots you like – and which you don’t like – so you can feel confident that your wedding photos will be exactly what you were hoping for.
Some couples also choose to use their engagement photos on their invitations, on their order of service, or at the wedding venue. It’s a really creative way to personalise every aspect of your day.
